We donate 1% back to nature
Did you notice? A breath of fresh air is blowing through the PP webshop. We started dusting the shelves, and it turns out: What came out from under the dust needs a freshening up. Our PP-train is always in full swing, we are successful and we have had our hands more than full with everything lately. But... isn't it time to take a critical look at our fundamentals?
'Out with the old, in with the new'? Nah...
Our foundation is rock solid: the collection is getting better and better, the shop is running like clockwork and we have the nicest customers in the world. The PP-Family feels like a warm nest: we are happy with that and grateful for it - as far as we are concerned there is little or nothing to improve on that front.
Then, what is changing?
We are busy fine-tuning our fundamentals. Back to basics, the cherries on the cake. The process started with the official recording of our brand pledge, and we decided upon this one. Drumroll……

Giving back 1%
Oui à l’ Amour! We feel the love for mother earth, love for everything she makes grow and bloom. There is so much to be thankful for, and we express that not only in words but also in deeds. That is why we give 1% of our turnover back to nature. We have already done something similar during previous campaigns, for example for The Ocean Cleanup and Trees For All – from now on, giving back will be the norm for us. Pour toujours.
Merino wool
Your very first love will always stay with you. Ours is called merino wool. Why? Merino wool is the crème de la crème of wools: it keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. Merino wool is extremely strong, antibacterial, easy to care for (no need to wash!) and impressively wrinkle-resistant. In addition, it is sustainable in several respects: it comes from a renewable source (grows back on its own), is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, and its cultivation uses much less water than other natural materials. And of course... merino wool is beautiful and timeless.

We go to great lengths to offer you an unforgettable online boutique experience, with service up to par. We pack your order extra nicely and add a personal note. We'll keep in touch to see if you're happy with your purchase and if there's anything else we can help you with. Sometimes we spontaneously e-mail you after a certain time with tips on washing and maintenance. And for questions or comments you only have to call or email us, we are always there for you.
In other words: we are not just at the door with coffee and cupcakes, but as soon as the virtual opportunity presents itself we will be the first to crank up the espresso machine :)
Clear case right? Except maybe one small point… Giving back 1%. That requires further explanation. Hereby.
GIVING BACK 1% - Why & How
Why?
(plug your ears, we're about to kick in some open doors.)
An established fact: the fashion industry has a negative impact on nature and the environment. And we are not only talking about the polluting factors, such as water pollution and CO2 emissions, but also about the depletion of natural resources through the use of raw materials that are not - or not fully - replenished. In addition, there is a lot of overproduction that piles up, and discarded clothing that is not or only partially recycled. In other words: we are committing massive robbery. That has to change. Fortunately, almost everyone is aware of this by now. Including us. Taking action is the only logical step.
How?
We take our responsibility seriously and that does not stop with words, they become actions.
We donate 1% of our turnover back to nature
We give 1% of our turnover back to nature, in the form of donations to causes and agencies that monitor and restore the health of nature.
Which authorities will that be? We are currently investigating that. We'll get back to that once we've made our initial choices. We expect partnerships with multiple varying goals.
Tough promises and big words call for ditto actions. In addition to financial injections, we intend to actually roll up our sleeves. Our future partners – the charities and agencies that protect nature – can count on our physical presence if necessary.
We are going to share our efforts with the world. We're not called PLEIN PUBLIQUE for nothing: We talk the talk but also walk the walk. Not for the greater honor and glory of ourselves, but to inspire and motivate others to take action as well. So that we can take care of Mother Earth as one big, warm family.
